The Bath magazine headline article: “A true man in the 21st century”

“What is a man? A friend? A father? A lover? A bread-winner? A DIY expert? A know-it-all? Or a useless couch potato? It’s tricky. We are told to be this, forced to be that. We have been taught to be tough, to cope, to bear the weight, to be brave, not to cry, to soldier on.”

These are some of the questions that successful TV and film director Otto Bathurst raises in his article featured on the front page of The Bath Magazine about the challenges facing men today. Amidst rising cancer mortality rates amongst men, depression and alcohol abuse and staggering suicide rates worldwide, it’s clear that men today are under enormous pressure. What is this pressure and what’s the answer?

In Otto’s own words – “Big problems require a big vision to see the whole picture.”

In this article he shares with immense tenderness how it is very possible to unpeel the layers and knock down the walls men hide behind and 'reveal the absolute gold that has been waiting patiently, ever since we were the gorgeous little boys that we all still are.'

"Be the man you know you are and not the man society has told you to be."

"All men are super sensitive. They feel emotional hurt just like any woman does. They ought to admit this instead of building fortresses that suppress the fact."
