A simple homemade dip that everyone will love – including the kids! This delicious cannellini bean hummus recipe is perfect as a side dish with salad, vegetables or meat, or served as a snack or appetiser for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 tin chickpeas (drained)
  • 1 tin cannellini beans (drained)
  • ¾ cup tahini (hulled)
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ lemon (juiced)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground coriander

Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

Inspiration

  • Add fresh herbs (e.g. parsley or coriander)
  • Use only chickpeas for a classic hummus
  • Use butter beans in place of cannellini beans for a slightly different flavour

Serving suggestions

Serve with fresh vegetable sticks (e.g.cucumber, carrots), corn chips, or as an accompaniment to any meat, fish or try with vegetable dish
