‘Our deepest hurt is not living who we truly are in full’

I have heard Serge Benhayon, express this more than once over the past four years but I can distinctly recall the first time I heard him say it. My whole body felt open as if to say ‘yes, this is the truth’.

Understanding this truth has very simply meant that I cannot blame anyone else for hurting me any more. With this awareness I have had to accept responsibility and realise that the various hurts I have experienced in life are rooted in this one choice I have made to not be who I truly am in full.

Whilst I haven’t completely mastered my hurt yet, I have ceased seeing myself as a victim. This way of being means I am empowered in life to make more loving choices, rather than live in a constant attempt to protect myself. As a result I have found myself more able to talk about my feelings, to be vulnerable with others and to open up in relationships.
