A willingness to heal – what is it to have a willingness to heal?

A willingness to heal is an intimate relationship with yourself.

A willingness to heal – what is it to have a willingness to heal?

Everyone has a relationship with healing in one way or another, be it from a scraped knee to an aha! moment in a relationship where you understand the other and can at last drop a barrier that may have been coming between you.

A willingness to heal can also come from a moment where you recognise that you have to ask for help, to admit that something is wrong and that you require some care and support; whether that be emotionally, physically or mentally. It is a moment of being humbled, not having all the answers, wanting ‘to get better’ or find a way to deal with what you are experiencing, perhaps needing professional guidance if you’re feeling ‘out of your depth’ with the problem.

For others, who are dedicated to and are prepared to go deeper with the relationship they have with themselves and healing, it becomes a willingness to ask for a higher truth and accept a greater surrender to the healing that is always on offer. Both paths to healing have value but it is the latter that offers the understanding that a willingness to truly heal is actually initiating a willingness to Evolve.

Life as we know it is not what it seems.

To welcome deeper healing over band-aid solutions in your life is always a choice that encompasses not only your own health and wellbeing, but ultimately the health and wellbeing of everyone around you. If a mother gets sick in a family then the whole family is affected, as it is not just the mother isolated with the illness. The illness is a catalyst and a healing for every single member of the family and everyone she is in relationship with.

Sometimes the choice to go for healing is only undertaken when we are sick, broken and desperate with a relationship wound, a death of someone close, a diagnosis of an illness, a collapse in health, a lowering of the immune system, a strain or pull at the gym, an accident or fall, an inability to fall pregnant or a lack of confidence and self-worth… to name some of the simple and obvious reasons for why we seek healing. For the most part however, human beings like to remain ignorant and unaware of the developing nature of these life lessons that arrive, usually only instigating healing out of urgency, crisis, or on someone else’s authority, and often in a last-minute state of anxiety, fear or panic.

What if there was a parallel path of healing that could be lived as a way of life, where you know the importance of taking time out to heal?

We grow up believing that the body can heal miraculously so we take it for granted that it is just a function of a healthy body that it just gets better if something is wrong. When you are sick with influenza, your body will ache and sweat and eliminate until the virus clears and you recover naturally. If you break a bone it can knit and repair, your fracture heals and you can go back to how you were moving around before the fracture/accident occurred that laid you up and had you out of action. In other words, there is a supposition that we have nothing to do with this recovery outside of rest and medication or surgery; the body takes over and does what it does to heal.

In truth, there is a science at the heart of this, in that the body does indeed have its own true intelligence and therefore a natural all-encompassing way to recover, come back to homeostasis, realign and heal, or expedite and eliminate what is there to release even if it eventuates in a greater illness or even death.

The body under the governance of the Soul registers the emergence or recurrence of disease or sickness as part of the healing cycle and therefore important, relevant and appropriate healing takes place in accordance with and to the greater cycle the body and being belong to.

If we have a relationship with our bodies that is detached and disempowered, then when we fall ill or suffer an accident or incident it will not be foremost in our thoughts to consider that we are central and ultimately responsible for our own healing process.

We may not even be prepared to stop for a moment to consider that we could have created and contributed to having the illness or crisis in the first place.

Studying statistics from WHO – the World Health Organisation – on the far-reaching impact of illness and disease in our world, it remains evident that there are many who have adopted the ‘too little too late’ attitude of dismissiveness to what’s really going on in their bodies and therefore minimising the signs and symptoms that are apparent long before they even seek or initiate healing. For example, overriding tiredness and fatigue in the body until it becomes an exhaustion that develops into a serious adrenal condition illustrating that we have already denied an opportunity for a simple healing of self-care to have taken place. Often when overwhelmed by a sickness that requires medical intervention we can feel a loss of control or sense of powerlessness if we have already forfeited the responsibility to listen to and deeply care for our body – instead handing this ‘responsibility’ over to someone else such as a trusted GP or specialist medical practitioner. The medical system takes responsibility to support us in healing but by not taking sufficient care of ourselves we place extra pressure on medical practitioners and the system itself to somehow miraculously ‘fix us’ and come up with all the answers.

Knowing the importance of taking time out to heal

We all have access to healing through our bodies as on a cellular level our cells are continually working back to harmony. This is our natural state. So, living a harmonious and healthy way of life, one that accepts instigating regular healing and time out for healing as a consistent part of our rhythm, is not only supportive, but regenerative and at its core, a healing. An obvious example of this is for us to know when our body requires deep rest and creating space within our rhythm to acknowledge this rather than pushing our bodies beyond their capacity and into illness.

Our human physiology and psychology is not something that we have to have a distant relationship with; there is much to marvel at and be awe inspired by as we investigate the depth of a true relationship with our self and healing. This relationship doesn’t just need to be unearthed when we require professional medical support, it can be an investment in yourself so as to be ‘energetically’ fit and prepared for the lives we lead. The current attitude on health and wellbeing is that it is not widely recognised that we are responsible for our own health and healing. Going for a healing when we are mentally, emotionally and physically ‘so called well’ in our life, and not presenting with a current issue or an illness that requires addressing is not a priority. No cause so, therefore, no need.

So what essentially is ‘a willingness to heal’ and what is its purpose?

A willingness to heal is actually a willingness to Evolve!

What if regular healing was undertaken as a way of responsibly attuning your whole being to living harmoniously and maintaining a consistency in this, not even as a preventative tool to abate illness and disease, but more so, a building of a strong, open, vital, connected, confident person: one who is willing to surrender unconditionally to the power of true healing, instigating regular and consistent sessions of healing, nurturing and caring for the inner-being and its outer physical encasement for the specific purpose of transformation and evolution.

Why would we choose this? When we request or initiate a healing through connecting to our essence, the Soul can prepare to release any disharmonious package of energy held within the body and the mind before illness or dis-ease even surfaces. Energetically, from this connection to our true self, anything that is not true can then arise to be cleared and healed. If we have been harbouring an emotional hurt, or holding on to regret, pride or an arrogant stance, or justifying a way of thinking that has taken us off tangent, even solidifying certain addictive behaviours, these emotional imprints that hold us back from feeling our true potential now begin to become visible. Instead of being buried, what is causing our issue comes to the forefront of our awareness, to identify and accept what is necessary to let go of, release and discard. The process of discarding in its wake revealing a lighter, more resolved, less complicated, more confident, intimate and loving human being.

In truth, a willingness to heal is accepting that we have a constant relationship with change and expansion within oneself, and thus a commitment to the path of (evolution) that our body belongs to.

We can regularly ‘activate’ and or initiate a process of healing that clears and reimprints a new way forward, an opportunity to advance to the next level of awareness, a deeper level of love. This is a relationship with evolution that honours the truth of continual growth and development offered by the Soul.

There is a higher truth and a greater meaning to our lives here on Earth, however the path of unfolding to this is not always chosen, nonetheless it remains eternally possible for every single one of us, awaiting to be unveiled at our own volition to understand and expand who we are, why we are here and what we are here to do.
