Esoteric Women's Health Newsletter March 2019
Esoteric Women's Health Newsletter March 2019
Welcome to our March 2019 newsletter.
International Women's Day (IWD) is on March 8 and the theme for 2019 is "#BalanceforBetter, calling for a more gender-balanced world".
In this month's newsletter we explore what "gender balance" truly means – could it be that it is about love and oneness and not about the "battle of the sexes"? We include many articles exploring this topic.
Inspired by IWD, Esoteric Women's Health hosts 'Women Connect' events around the world where women gather to simply connect as women and share conversations about how we are feeling, what is important in our lives and for our future. See if there is one in your area, read on to find out more.
We also encourage you to find a local Well-being for Women Group in your area and come along for some super supportive and inspiring presentations – see our website for details.
Please enjoy our newsletter, and we invite you to reflect on what gender balance or equality looks like for you? What do you see around you and what do you feel is our way forward?

Gender equality – how do we lose the fight?
Media educator Rebecca Asquith and columnist for EWH's sister initiative, Women in Livingness, takes the International Women's Day 2019 theme of #BalanceforBetter and asks what does it mean to fight for gender equality? Is it a fight that can ever actually be won?
Gender equality should be a given. It is a basic human right.
As Natalie Benhayon observed in a recent presentation, “reaching gender equality alone will not equal women’s empowerment. It is simply a correction.” A correction to an ill that has long permeated society – we need to aim much higher. We don’t even know what empowerment looks like, because we haven’t even reached basic equality yet.
So how do we achieve it? Can we keep fighting for it? For years it would seem we have fought hard for it without substantial result. It is a little known fact that with the rise of the #metoo movement the death toll of women killed by their partners also rose. Worldwide.
"So do we really want gender equality or do we want a complete re-founding of the qualities that define the genders altogether?"
Gender equality – how far have we come?
"What if men and women realised that the battle of the sexes is just a game that is keeping us from true gender equality?"
Love – the missing link in gender equality
"What if we broke down a lot of the constructs and conditionings of what it is to be masculine and feminine . . . ? And what if we realised that they were just adopted behaviours and beliefs; rites of passages and 'rules of engagement'?"
Gender equality – does it start with women’s responsibility to themselves?
"It occurred to me that true gender equality was understanding the purpose of the uniqueness of male and female bodies and what each represents to the other: it is not to move or be the same as the opposite gender, but to claim the true state of the gender you have as being equal."
My True Tenderness and Delicateness – a Fresh Look at True Gender Equality
"Being equal as men and women is not necessarily about being able to do the exact same thing. True gender equality is about honouring the specific qualities that each man and woman has in full."
Women’s Rights – Bringing Universality into the Conversation
"Why is it that despite the many marches, demonstrations, petitions, activists, movements, and media or stories, we haven’t as yet even begun to bring about change to the way women are in the world universally – with changes for all?"
Women Connect events are shared gatherings, morning/afternoon teas or lunches, an informal gathering with a deeper purpose to bring an opportunity to simply connect as women and share conversations about how we are feeling, what is important in our lives and for our future.
Events are hosted all around the world by women either in their homes, at health clinics, workplaces or parks with some offering free yoga sessions and body treatments.
Inspired by International Women’s Day and its worldwide footprint to bring awareness and action to the challenges of women’s health and equality, Esoteric Women’s Health inaugurated these ‘Women Connect’ events to bring people together in their local communities and at the grass-roots level start addressing some of the core issues we face on a global scale as women and with our health.
Well-being for Women
Well-being for Women are regular presentations held throughout the world that can support us to restore a level of vitality, well-being and zest for life that many of us struggle to feel amidst the demands, pressures and expectations of daily life.
"These presentations offer a space where women can come together and feel free to express what is really going on for them, in a space that is so supportive and non-judgemental – we are all dealing with the same issues in their many different forms, and it is so good to be able to support each other to know there is a different way, a way that truly and deeply honours who we are." ~ KB, age 58
Esoteric Yoga offers us the opportunity to stop, listen, feel, observe and to reacquaint with the honesty of our body and its messages. Our body is our internal compass that is there to guide us and remind us of how to live in a way that honours our needs, and how to live in accordance to our innate rhythm and quality of stillness.
Classes can be done in person or online at a time that suits you.
