Using a quote style changes the default paragraph style, and can be used to bring attention to a saying, sentence or remark. If you use them sparingly, quote styles can emphasise the essence of an article.

Once you have picked the style you need, follow the method as outlined below to add the element in your article.

Standard Quote

This is the standard small quote with no bar. How is it that I went from the beautiful, confident little girl I was to an adult woman who checks herself in the mirror to confirm she is “ok” by how she looks, or waits to be told she looks good or beautiful and is left feeling plain without it? So what other beliefs had I been running with?

To use this style, format your text like this:

> The quote can be very long. Put it all on one line...

TIP: This makes the text italic, but keeps it at the normal paragraph size.

Large Quote

The large quote uses two greater than symbols instead of one!

To use this style, format your text like this:

>> The large quote uses two greater than symbols instead of one!

TIP: A simple way to emphasis a powerful point. This is best reserved for quotes which are one or two lines long.

Quote with Stripe

This is a quote with a stripe. How is it that I went from the beautiful, confident little girl I was to an adult woman who checks herself in the mirror to confirm she is “ok” by how she looks, or waits to be told she looks good or beautiful and is left feeling plain without it?

To use this style, format your text like this:

|> This is a quote with a stripe. How is it...

TIP: If you feel the quote needs to be emphasised even further, adding a stripe makes it stand out. This effect can be particularly handy in long articles where it adds some much needed colour to the page.

Large Quote with Stripe

This is a large quote with a bar. Whatever is said here won't be missed.

To use this style, format your text like this:

|>> This is a large quote with a stripe. Whatever is said here won't be missed.

TIP: If you feel your quote needs to be emphasised even further, adding a stripe makes it stand out. This effect can be particularly handy in long articles where it adds some much needed colour to the page. The larger version is best suited for smaller quotes and remarks.

Indented Paragraph

This is an indented paragraph of text. How is it that I went from the beautiful, confident little girl I was to an adult woman who checks herself in the mirror to confirm she is “ok” by how she looks, or waits to be told she looks good or beautiful and is left feeling plain without it? So what other beliefs had I been running with?

To use this style, open your article in the 'Edit' view. Now hover over the pink boxes icon in the toolbar. Select 'Indented Paragraph' from the list. This will insert some code like this:

<p class="indented-paragraph">This is a standard paragraph of text.</p>

TIP: The Indented Paragraph style brings extra attention to a statement, by adding space on the sides. It can also be used to show case longer quotes.

Centred Statement

This is what a centred statement looks like.

To use this style, format your text like this:

>< This is a what a centred statement looks like.

TIP: This style is specifically for highlighting short statements or phrases. Unlike the rest of the page it aligns the text centrally drawing extra attention to what is being said. It's best to keep these statements short and succinct to make the most of this technique.

Serge Quote Box

“The more we know about our true essence, the more we can come back to who we really are”

Serge Benhayon Esoteric Teachings and Revelations

To use this style, format your text like this:

<blockquote class="quote-box serge-quote-box">
<h3>"The more we know about our true essence, the more we can come back to who we really are"</h3>
<cite>Serge Benhayon</cite>
<cite>Esoteric Teachings and Revelations</cite>
</blockquote>

TIP: This style is specifically designed from quotes from Serge. It is best suited to quotes of 2-3 lines. If you have a longer excerpt we suggest using one of the other quote styles. We will be providing another specific style for long Serge quotes in the near future.
