The lethargy-busting magic of work

The lethargy-busting magic of work
"Enjoy the movements that confirm purpose. And cease those that do not."
Serge Benhayon Esoteric Teachings & Revelations Volume IV, ed 1, p 305
It’s the quality of how you move and the purpose that moves you that make the difference in life and in work. You cannot think about this or ‘work it out’ in your head. Purpose must be applied to life with a genuine will to discover the truth of this statement or not.
Working with purpose is a movement that helps us build the fitness to detach from lethargy. When we work purposefully we contribute whole-heartedly, not just ticking the boxes to get the job done, to achieve recognition for a result, or to get the pay cheque. This applies whether you are caring for a home or are in the world doing volunteer or paid work.
It calls for a whole-bodied ‘Yes’ to bringing all of you to what you do – a ‘Yes’ to bringing the quality of a committed you to every step.
Bring it with your natural joy and sweetness, absolute integrity with every move. Did you note that the concept of ‘good’, and being ‘good’ or the ‘best’ at what you do did not get a mention? The level of integrity that is being discussed here is wholesome and transparent – meaning it is not about creating the appearance of doing a job well, but bringing our whole selves to all that we do, being always willing to learn, being humble in the face of errors, and setting a standard of genuine care (for people and the job) that seems to have become a rarity in the world today.
As soon as you connect to true purpose you receive an energy that then makes you move to a different tune. Suddenly any slack and lethargy feel less dominant in your body. It is like an internal fire has sparked up, rekindled by responding to the call to be ON and you reclaim your place in the rhythm of life.
"There is no greater focus than purpose."
Serge Benhayon Esoteric Teachings & Revelations Volume IV, ed 1, p 125
Don’t you love that feeling of being ON – totally with it, switched on, fully present! Life flows and you feel expansive. Say Yes to this and live life to the full again.
Connecting to true purpose gets your starter motor going … so long as you are receiving the proper fuel that will make your engine purr.
It is foolish to portray these changes as an assured gateway to bliss. The fact is that there are many aspects of the workplace such as impossible time constraints and demands to deliver outcomes that too often defy reason and decency. There may be the constant demand of KPIs that can lead to disgruntlement and in instances, a serious challenge to our sense of ethics and appropriateness. There may be comparison or bullying from colleagues and this can be to such an extent that leaving the workplace may have to be considered. It is horrific that for too many people, these scenarios are the normality that crushes our enthusiasm for work and love for what we do.
And this is when the integrity of purpose becomes more valuable, more significant and more valuable . . . not less.
The greater the value we hold for our integrity, the more we see that integrity is desperately needed in a world so direly lacking in its true presence. The greater the value we assign to living purposefully for all of us, then the more preciousness purposefulness holds in our attributes as a human being.
It becomes the standard we will not drop below.
If you bring ‘godly you’ to the workplace and move with the authority of that, you will sidestep time and step onto the travelator of universal flow which is timeless and offers us everything we need to make the necessary steps throughout our day. In this way we contribute exactly what is needed without energy being depleted by planning, trying to work things out, trying to get things right, or wanting to do it my way.
Anything done without moving in purpose soon exposes itself once a certain level of being purposeful becomes an established normal. It feels unnatural to not run on this fuel that ignites every aspect of life, and is not limited to work.
Let us not be naïve about it. There will be times when stress, competing objectives in the workplace and aspects of unfairness or even flagrant corruption and abuse of process will make holding purpose seem not only difficult but, pointless and purposeless, with no diminishing pun intended.
There is no trite response to be given when such challenges arise, other than to say that there are grand and Universal scales upon which the intent of our lives and our way of being in the face of such adversity, is deeply registered. This is not optimistic assurance, but a call for us to recognise that there is an underlying truth that we register deeply and know when we are in its presence.
Sometimes we are called to be that presence for others.
True work is to bring what is lacking, to bring purpose even when it does not seem to be valued by those around us, whether we are at home cleaning, volunteering or doing paid work. Activating purpose may reveal to us (should we be willing) that we are way more than just human. We are beings who are here to work for Heaven, not for ourselves in isolation from the whole of life. We each have a unique purpose to serve humanity and our contribution is needed.
