Banana, chia seed and nut smoothie

A sweet and creamy nourishing smoothie that will light up any breakfast, brunch or lunch.

SERVES: 2 PREP TIME: 15 mins


  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter
  • 2 dates, seedless and cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optionally pre-soaked)
  • ½ avocado
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup ice


  1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until the desired consistency is reached.
  2. Pour into a glass and add a smoothie straw, ready to be enjoyed.

Inspirations and top tips

  • Try this as a dessert … leave the ice out, blend and place in ramekin dishes to set for 20 minutes before serving with some cookies
  • Have fun experimenting with this recipe. For example, add a handful of spinach leaves for extra nourishment and a flash of colour or a squeeze of lemon or lime for a little lift …
  • You can use frozen avocado or bananas for this recipe
