My son and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy

My 6-year-old son was recently struggling with being teased by an older child. I took him to a physiotherapist he had seen before who also is a practitioner of Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy.

After his first session of Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy with her it was truly remarkable what unfolded. Slowly over time, due to being teased, his sweetness was becoming more and more hidden and I hadn't really noticed the extent to which this was happening. I stayed with my son in the treatment room for his session and I was at ease with his having this therapy as he was treated with the utmost respect. At one point the physiotherapist asked him if she could apply a technique to his lower back to which he said no – he was not comfortable with it so she found another way to go forward with the treatment. Immediately after the session the sweet, gorgeous boy I know was back. He couldn't wipe the smile from his face and I asked him how he felt and he said "Super duper wuper good”.

The effects of teasing and bullying are something we can carry in our bodies into adulthood. Often our behaviour becomes modified because of it.

With the support of the Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy session, my son released the tension he was carrying from the teasing. Bullying can affect people on many levels, including the storing of tension on a physical level. The tension did not carry on into the future, which supported him to respond and deal with the bullying rather than contract because of it.

How someone responds to bullying is always their own choice but having some support on a physical level definitely helps – in this case my son was far more able to deal with the emotional side of bullying.

Following the session my son was able to express himself more clearly when faced with bullying and not allow himself to be as affected by it. The changes in him were quite remarkable.
