Gluten free crackers with sunflower and sesame seeds
Here it is! Easy to make and nutritious gluten free cracker recipe. Tasty, light and crunchy, this recipe is an absolute winner with high calcium too! Great as a snack or light meal alongside your favourite dip , try the Cannellini Bean Hummus or Avocado Salsa.
Ingredients
- ½ cup white sesame seeds
- ½ cup black sesame seeds
- ¾ cup sunflower seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes (optional and to taste)
- 1 egg white, whisked
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Put the dry ingredients into your food processor and pulse for 10-15 seconds.
- Add the egg white and olive oil and pulse for a further 5-10 seconds.
- Place the mixture on a sheet of baking paper lining your baking tray.
- Place another sheet of baking paper on top and with your hands (or a rolling pin) press down the mixture until it is about 4-5mm in thickness all over.
- Score with a knife into bite size shapes as you like.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes (until just starting to brown).
Inspiration
- To mix it up a little, try adding some other dried herbs to the mix such as oregano or thyme.
- Serve alongside your favourite dips and condiments, we recommend Avocado salsa, Dairy free basil pesto, Cannellini bean hummus or a delicious Beetroot dip.
- When entertaining, try serving with a selection plate of all four - Yum!
