Strawberry and avocado salsa

A fresh, tangy and summery salsa that will liven up and bring a zing to any fish or meat dish. Also delicious on crackers before or after a meal.

SERVES:  - PREP TIME:  10-15 mins COOK TIME:  -

Ingredients

  • 250g strawberries, hulled and chopped into cubes
  • 1 large avocado, chopped into small cubes
  • 3 spring onions, finely chopped
  • ½ red chilli, medium strength, deseeded and finely chopped
  • ½ juice of lime
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped (optional)

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and gently mix.

Inspiration and top tips

  • This fresh summery salsa is delicious as a topping for grilled fish or meat dishes, i.e. burger or try in a chicken wrap
  • Swap the avocado for peeled and finely chopped cucumber or replace lime juice with lemon juice
  • Try as a dip with crackers or corn chips to complement the beginning or end of a meal
